Tadoba Safari Fees Explained

Safari costs have two parts: the official charges set by the Maharashtra Forest Department, and the private costs around them: stay, meals and transfers. This guide shows the official charges exactly as listed on the booking portal, then explains what changes the cost of a planned trip.

Figures last checked on 22 October 2026 on the official Tadoba booking portal (Safari Fee Structure). Fees are set by the Forest Department and can change, so confirm the amount at checkout before you pay.

Official fees: core zone gypsy safari

Core safari fees depend on how far ahead you book (1 to 59 days, or 60 to 120 days) and whether the safari falls on a weekday or a weekend. Amounts are per gypsy.

Official fees: buffer zone gypsy safari

For a regular buffer safari booked 1 to 120 days ahead, the portal lists one rate for weekdays and one for weekends. Amounts are per gypsy.

Full-day safari and photography fees

The portal lists separate full-day rates. The core full-day photography and videography fee is ₹50,000 for Indian tourists and ₹70,000 for foreign tourists (entry ₹38,000 or ₹58,000, guide ₹2,100, gypsy ₹9,900). The buffer full-day fee is also ₹50,000 for Indian tourists and ₹70,000 for foreign tourists (entry ₹38,900 or ₹58,900, guide ₹2,100, vehicle ₹9,000). On the portal, full-day safaris allow a maximum of 4 people in core and 6 in buffer (other than guide and driver), only the names on the online ticket are allowed, and there is no cancellation or refund (zero refund).

Cancellation and refunds

The portal’s policy applies to gypsy safari bookings, not to activities, tents or cruiser bookings. Refunds are paid 4 to 7 working days after cancellation.

Checkout charges are not verified. The portal’s public fee table does not mention GST, payment-gateway or other checkout charges, and we have not confirmed whether any are added when you pay. Treat the totals above as the listed fees and check the final amount on the portal before you pay.

What these numbers tell you

• Booking 60 to 120 days ahead costs more in the core zone than booking 1 to 59 days ahead, and weekends cost more than weekdays.
• The guide fee is the same in every column of the core and buffer tables.
• The listed totals are per gypsy, so the cost per person falls as more people share the vehicle. The portal’s rules on seats per vehicle apply.
• The portal warns visitors not to pay extra charges and to book online directly at the listed rates, with a complaints contact shown on the fee page.

Official charges vs private costs

The tables above are the Forest Department’s safari charges. They do not include accommodation, meals, transfers to and from Nagpur or Chandrapur, or any planning service. Those are private costs, and they are what make one trip quote differ from another.

Why package quotes vary

• Where you stay and the room category, and whether meals are included.
• How far the stay is from your chosen gate, and how you travel to it.
• Number of safaris, core or buffer, and weekday or weekend dates.
• How early you book, which changes the core permit fee.
• Group size, because the safari vehicle cost is shared.
