Tadoba visitor guide

How to Reach Tadoba

Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve is in Chandrapur district, in the east of Maharashtra. Most visitors arrive via Nagpur, and some via Chandrapur. Our Tadoba safari from Nagpur guide covers arrival-day planning, and the Moharli and Kolara gate guides explain how each gate fits a trip.

By air

The nearest major airport is Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport in Nagpur. It has domestic connections with major Indian cities, and international travellers usually connect through a large Indian hub. Check current flight schedules before you book.

By rail

Chandrapur railway station is the nearest station of note, roughly 45 km from the Moharli side of the reserve. Nagpur Junction is a larger hub with wider connections.

By road

From Nagpur the drive to the Tadoba area is roughly 130 to 150 km, typically three to four hours depending on traffic and which gate your stay is near. Chandrapur and Chimur are nearby towns. Safaris inside the reserve run in authorised safari vehicles, not private cars.

Choosing your base

Safari gates are spread around the reserve, so your lodge location affects the travel time each morning. See safari gates and zones and the safari booking guide.
