Where you stay shapes your safari more than most people expect. Safaris start early, so the distance between your bed and the gate decides how rushed or relaxed each morning feels. This page explains how to choose; we confirm current availability and options once you send an enquiry.
Match your stay to your gates
- Start from the gate, not the resort. Decide which gates you plan to use first, then choose a stay on that side of the reserve. The Moharli gate is on the Chandrapur side and the Kolara gate is reached through Chimur, so a stay that suits one does not automatically suit the other.
- Keep a trip on one side where you can. If your core and buffer safaris use gates in the same area, you avoid long transfers between safaris. If you mix areas, we plan and confirm the transfer for you.
- Ask every property for two things: its map location and the drive time to the gate you will use. We do not publish resort-to-gate distances because they vary by property and route.
- Remember the closure days. Core gates are closed on Tuesdays and buffer gates on Wednesdays, which affects how many nights you need. See safari timings.
- Compare categories by what is included, such as meals, transfers and safari arrangements, not by name alone. Our sample itineraries show how stays fit around safaris.
For accommodation-inclusive safari packages, see Incredible Tadoba, or send us your dates and we will suggest stays that suit your gates.
Start with the gate
The core gates are Moharli, Khutwanda, Kolara, Navegaon, Zari and Pangdi, and buffer gates are grouped around them. Staying near the gate you plan to use cuts travel time. If you want to try several gates, choose a base that is reasonably central. See Safari gates and zones.

Three categories
Deluxe. Comfortable, practical stays for those who mostly want a good base for safaris.
Super Deluxe. More space, facilities and comfort between safaris.
Luxury. The most comfortable stays, for travellers who want relaxation as part of the trip.
These are the categories you can choose in our enquiry form. Facilities within each category vary from property to property, so we check the details before recommending one.

Match your stay to your trip
| If your trip is | Prioritise |
|---|---|
| Short, with two or three safaris | A stay close to your chosen gate, so early starts cost less time |
| Longer, trying several gates | A reasonably central base, and a category that lets you rest between safaris |
| A family or larger group | Room types that suit your group, and meal arrangements for early mornings |
| Focused on rest as well as wildlife | Super Deluxe or Luxury categories, checked for the facilities you want |

Accommodation questions
How close should I stay to the safari gate?
As close as suits your plan. Safaris start early, and staying near the gate you plan to use cuts travel time. If you want to try several gates, choose a base that is reasonably central.
Do you publish resort prices or availability?
No. Both change with season and demand. Tell us your dates and preferred category and we check them for you.
Can the stay be arranged together with the safaris?
Yes. A stay, safaris and transfers can be planned together as one package. See Tadoba safari packages and the suggested itineraries, and read how to reach Tadoba for getting there.
Ready to plan? Tell us your dates and group size and we will come back with options. An enquiry does not reserve a permit.
