Tadoba visitor guide

Tadoba Safari FAQ

Short answers to the questions visitors ask most. Rules and dates can change by official notice, so we confirm anything time-sensitive for your dates when you enquire.

Who issues safari permits?

The Maharashtra Forest Department issues permits, subject to its rules and availability. We help you plan around them, but we do not control them. Read the safari booking guide.

How do I book a safari?

Send us an enquiry through Plan Your Safari with your dates and group size, and we will check availability and come back with options.

Does sending the enquiry form book my safari?

No. The form is an enquiry for planning support. A booking exists only when we confirm it in writing. See the Booking Terms.

How far ahead can safaris be booked?

The forest department allows bookings up to 120 days ahead. Popular dates fill early, so plan sooner rather than later.

Which days are safaris closed?

According to the forest department, core gates are closed on Tuesdays and buffer gates on Wednesdays. We check for notices when planning your trip.

What is the difference between core and buffer?

Core zones are the most strictly protected habitat; buffer zones surround them and offer more flexibility. Both can be rewarding. See Core vs buffer.

Can I be sure of seeing a tiger?

No. Tigers are wild animals and no one can guarantee a sighting. See Wildlife and tigers.

When is the best time to visit?

October to February is cooler and pleasant; March to May is hot and dry; the monsoon months from June to September bring closures to core zones. See Best time to visit.

How do I get to Tadoba?

Most visitors fly to Nagpur and continue by road. Chandrapur is the nearest major railway station. See How to reach Tadoba.

What does a package cost?

It depends on dates, group size, stay and permits, so we quote after your enquiry. Official permit charges and private service charges are shown separately. See Safari packages.

Still have a question? Send an enquiry and we will help. An enquiry does not reserve a permit.
